Children's Author at London Family Fun Day
Earlier this year we helped two year old Myles fulfil his dream. Sadly he died shortly afterwards. His mum Rachel has organised a family fun day in his memory on Saturday 13th September, which promises to be a fantastic event.
Rachel Humphrey is organising a Family Fun Day on Saturday 13th September at the Jubilee Sports Ground in Catford, London. The event is being held in memory of her son Myles who sadly died earlier this year at the age of two, shortly after we were able to arrange a special trip for him to go to London Zoo - read the full story of Myles's Dream.
Rachel says, "I would like to help make other seriously and terminally ill children’s dreams come true and give families, like ours, some special memories."
The day promises to be full of fun with a zoo theme that reflects Myles's dream. Special guest is Rod Campbell, author of children's book 'Dear Zoo', the book that inspired Myles's dream. Rod will be story telling for the children and signing books.
Other entertainment includes:
- live music from local acts
- football skills workshop
- animal shows
- dance workshops
- local stalls including face painting, crafts, kids nail/tattoo art
- delicious food and refreshments including BBQ, Pimms, Krispy Kreme donuts and hand-made chocolates
It sounds like it will be a fantastic day with something for all the family. It's running from 11am to 4pm so if you can make it to south London, come down and join in the fun.
Even if you can't make it on the day then you can still support Rachel's fundraising efforts by visiting her online fundraising page.
