Softcat raises more than one million pounds for chosen charity
Softcat has now raised over 1 million pounds for its chosen charity in the last four years.
Following its May Ball, which took place last Friday at London's prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, Softcat has now raised over 1 million pounds for Dreams Come True in the last four years.
Hosted by Softcat's very own Charles Harman and Michael Walker, guests were treated to a star-studded evening, featuring a headline act from comedian Jack Whitehall. Other well-known celebrities, such as one of the UK's leading comedian/magicians – Pete Firman and TV announcer and voice-over artist – Peter Dickson, kept the entertainment flowing. Returning for another year, Kiss 100's breakfast show presenter, DJ Charlie Hedges ensured the after party continued into the early hours. The sell out event once again proved to be one of the most popular charity events in the IT industry calendar, with 950 guests attending an evening of fundraising and live entertainment in aid of Softcat's chosen charity, Dreams Come True.
Martin Hellawell, Softcat's CEO said: "This is the fourth consecutive year we've raised money for Dreams Come True. The children's charity works hard to enrich the lives of children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions and is a charity very close to our hearts. We're absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of our guests and sponsors. On behalf of Softcat, I would personally like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to ensure our annual charity event was yet again, a success."
Softcat's Charles Harman, who co-organised the event with Michael Walker said: "Once again the Softcat charity teams have done an incredible job. The generosity of our sponsors and donations from guests helped raise over £290,000 on the night, bringing the total raised for Dreams Come True over the last four years to more than £1 million. This is a fantastic achievement and we'd like to thank everyone behind the scenes who made it happen."
Softcat expressed their thanks to this year's event sponsors, which included HPE, HP Inc, Lenovo, Dell, Tableau, Wick Hill, Zycko, Exclusive Networks, Arrow, Northamber, Check Point, Clearswift and Imago.
