Tea Time Treats
We all have them, a sweet treat which takes us back to the good old days when there was no council tax and mortgage payments to worry about and instead the most pressing thing on your mind was how to convince your mum that another Wagon Wheel was not going to mean you didn’t eat your tea!
To mark the launch of the national Dream Tea fundraising campaign, we conducted a nationwide survey, polling 1000 consumers, to find out what teatime treats bring on nostalgic feelings of childhood.
The results where ‘wheelie’ interesting so we thought we would share them with you;
Our nationwide survey has found that Wagon Wheels remind most of their childhood, regardless of generation, region and gender, though Jammy Dodgers most encouraged childhood nostalgia in Scotland and Wales.
DREAMS COME TRUE Survey Reveals that Wagon Wheels Reminds UK Most of Childhood
• With 43 per cent of the vote - Wagon Wheels prove the most popular teatime treat to make people nostalgic of their childhoods
• A notable female bias pushes Pink Wafer Fingers to second place with 35 per cent
The Dream Tea rallies people across the country to take time out, gather friends, colleagues, classmates and take part in the nation’s favourite pastime; having a cup of tea and a slice of cake or biscuit, all while raising funds to provide the power of dream fulfilment to unwell children. This year Dream Tea will be a week long (what a great excuse to eat more cake)!
Dream Tea is as big or small as the host desires – from a ten minute tea break with work colleagues, to an indulgent vintage-inspired tea party or school cake competition. 2015 Dream Tea Fundraising packs are available to download from our website. These provide a range of fun ideas on how to raise money, such as guessing the weight of a cupcake to what teatime treat your friends could most be associated with.
We want to know what people think - what teatime treat are you? ARE YOU more of a round and smooth WAGON WHEEL, feisty JAMMY DODGER, girly PINK WAFER BISCUIT OR an intellectual slice of BATTENBURG CAKE?
