Super-volunteer Nick raises £16,000 in 16 months
Our super-volunteer, Nick started raising money for us in 2016. He’s been across the country to supermarkets helping to raise funds to fulfil the dreams of children with life-limiting and serious conditions. In the 16 months, he has raised £16,507.29. It’s an incredible achievement and we are so grateful for the support Nick has provided us.
His fundraising will see more dreams like 8-year-old Ryan’s come true. Ryan has a very rare and progressive genetic disorder affecting his central nervous system, sight, limbs and motor skills. Everyday life can is challenging and he is unable to do many of the things most eight-year-olds take for granted, such as riding a bike. Ryan loves being outdoors but with limited mobility, he has always relied on others to push him around in his specially adapted pushchair.
Ryan’s dream was simple - he wanted to be like his big sister and join in with family bike rides. For that, Ryan would need a specialist trike which are prohibitively expensive for many families. Mum, Emma, wrote to us asking if we could help. As she explained: “It would make Ryan so happy to be more independent and do something that many eight-year olds take for granted. The trike would also help Ryan to strengthen his leg muscles and improve his mobility.”
Thanks to the support of people like Nick, we were able to make a little boy’s dream come true. Thank you so much Nick. You are a hero!
