Bingo, Food, and Friends, What more could you ask for?
Last Sunday evening the Liverpool development team put together their first fundraising event in the centre of Liverpool at La Vina tapas restaurant.
In preparation for the event, we invited family, friends, and anyone we could get our hands on to make the evening as much of a success as possible. On the night we managed to get everyone involved playing a few rounds of bingo between courses, really appealing to those with a strong competitive side! Players were rewarded with various prizes for a line or for a house with one lucky guest winning a prize twice!
The venue for the event added the posh to bingo with the fundraiser taking place in a private dining room with traditional Spanish restaurant decor, it was nearly as good as being away on holiday!
Guests were treated to sangria on arrival and a two-course tapas meal in their ticket which was mouth-wateringly good, the tables were covered with bowls of all sorts of Spanish cuisine giving everyone the chance to get stuck in and try new things.
When speaking to guests throughout the night they all were intrigued about Dreams Come True and keen to learn more about what we are really about. They couldn’t wait to spread the word further to their other friends and family after the event.
I and the rest of the team chatted about the charity and some ideas of what the future holds in Liverpool, it seems that the only way is up!
We provided guests with plenty of information leaflets and details of granted dreams touching the hearts of many.
The fundraiser managed to bring in a total of £232.22 clearly showing its undoubted success.
For me as well as having a fun evening with friends and family knowing that you are helping change a young life gives the evening a special feeling like no other.
I would also like to take the chance to say thank you to Mandy and Mat and our newest team member Frankie for their massive dedication to their event! Well done guys!
