Olivia and Georgie get ready for Rio
Paralympians from all over the world are preparing to jet off to Rio for the start of the Paralympics, starting September 7th.
Our ambassadors Olivia Breen and Georgie Hermitage will be taking part in the 11 day sporting celebration, both harbouring hope for success.
Olivia took part in the London 2012 Paralympics, competing in the T38 100m and 200m sprints, and won a bronze medal as part of the womens relay team. Olivia has put a lot of hard work in over the last two years preparing for these games, and will compete in the 100m once again, as well as the long jump and womens relay.
You can catch Olivia competing on these dates:
Thursday, September 8th - 100m heats
Friday, September 9th - 100m final (we hope!)
Sunday, September 11th - long jump
Friday, September 16th - 4x100m relay
Georgie was inspired to go back to running, a sport she had loved but gave up as a 14-year-old after witnessing Mo Farah's triumphant feats at London 2012. She fell back in love with athletics and set her sights on Rio. Winning gold at the IPC Athletics European Championships in Italy, Georgie is now looking forward to the T37 100m, 4x400m, and 400m. After setting the world record in the T37 4x100 relay, Georgie is hoping to kick on at this years games and challenge herself even further.
You can catch Georgie on these dates:
8th September 100m heats 11pm
9th September 100m final 9.30pm
12th September 400m heats 2.30am
13th September 400m final 2.15pm
15th September 4x100m 11.30pm
