Thames Valley 4x4
Sarah and Claire recently took part in the Thames Valley 4x4 challenge, here Sarah tells us about the muddy fun and the money they raised.
Thames Valley 4x4 Club is a friendly off roading club based in North Hampshire and Berkshire. They regularly meet at various (muddy) locations across the region. All are welcome from those new to off roading to more experienced 4x4 drivers.
From my experience the aim of the events they hold are to have fun and get as muddy as possible! Thames Valley 4x4 Club hold a charity event once a year and we have been lucky enough to benefit from the last two of these. The charity days are brilliant fun and involve ‘fines’ and ‘charges’ by marshals for things like – needing a tow, not being muddy enough and having too much fun. All the fines get added to the charity pot along with the proceeds from the raffle and general generosity of the members.
Over the past two events Thames Valley 4x4 club have raised an amazing £2,500 which is the average cost of a dream. We are incredibly grateful for the donations and absolutely love attending the charity event for which wellies are definitely required!
If you would like to join the club or go along and see what it’s all about you can find out about their next meet or get in touch. If you would like to host your own muddy fundraiser and make more dreams become a reality for seriously ill children and young people, contact Sarah or take a look at our get involved page.
