Bella Italia and Dreams Come True Abseil the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth
A team of Bella Italia staff members, including directors and area managers, from across the UK descended on Portsmouth last week to take on the 100m abseil challenge. The Spinnaker Tower is one of the tallest buildings in the UK outside of London.
It was perfect weather for the team of twelve to take on the challenge throughout the afternoon. Peter, Chief Executive of Dreams Come True, used to be in the Army so has had plenty of abseiling experience in the past and was happy to give reassuring advice to those who were feeling a little nervous. Jo, our Corporate Account Manager, is terrified of heights but bravely took on the challenge and raised £370 in sponsorship for Dreams Come True.
Staff and volunteers formed part of the cheering squad supporting the challengers. They were also joined by a few characters that went down very well with some of the younger supporters, two Minions and Super Mario helped out with a bucket collection and raffle.
Once everyone had their feet firmly on the ground and we had all enjoyed some delicious Bella Italia Gelato we were treated to a performance from Sapphire, a young ambassador for Dreams Come True. Sapphire and her sister Skye are two young sensational singers that entertained the Bella Italia diners. It was the perfect end to the day.
Huge congratulations to all that took part and thank you to the team at Bella Italia Gunwharf Quays for a great event and raising over £6000.
