A cup of tea with ambassador Olivia Breen
I have had a really busy season trying to get fast enough times and long enough jumps to be considered for selection to The Paralympic Games in Rio in September. At the IPC European Championships back in June, for one reason or another, I did not achieve as much as I had hoped to in the individual events. I achieved a pb and fourth place in long jumps but I was a disappointing sixth in the 100m and 200m. We did however achieve a new world record and gold medal in the relay which was great.
Since then I have been trying to improve my times and jumps before selection for Rio. I jumped a pb in the long jump at Lee Valley last Wednesday and ran a pb in the 100m at the Müller Anniversary Games last Saturday. It was so good to be back In The Olympic Park - it brought back so many amazing memories of 2012 especially as I was racing with one of the original GB relay team girls, Katrina Hart.
I was really happy with my race and to get a pb there was really special. The team for Rio is being announced on Tuesday 26th July (my birthday!) so let's wait and see if I will be on the plane. Fingers crossed!Become a volunteer? »
